Funeral for Nachugora Duma in Tulgit: Women relatives of the husband’s family are responsible for funerals even if the deceased woman’s husband may have passed before her. Bringing her body to the clinic, they wait for relatives arrive. Binding her body in a blanket with knees at her chest, they attach her to a pole. Circling rocks three times, they carry her to a makeshift grave, filling it with heavy rocks for protection.Buy This Image
