Kamchatka, Russia | Where the Salmon Rule, National Geographic Magazine: Petropavlovsk Port | Kamchatka, Russia

Petropavlovsk has the 2nd largest port in the world. Fish go out and cheap Chinese shoes come in. This port has a deep, flat bottom and a well-protected entrance, and is the location of a major submarine base.  This port is the spinning top for salmon that are exported down the Japan side of the Pacific Rim.
