Kentucky Horse | High Stakes in the Bluegrass, National Geographic: White Fences On Bluegrass Farm

Verticle aerial photograph shows double fences painted white on elaborate horse farm.

Bluegrass Country is synonymous with white-fenced farms and thoroughbred horses grazing in the fields. An aerial picture shows picturesque Donamire Farm in Lexington, Kentucky with the green bluegrass landscape divided by double fences that reduce risk of injury, horses escaping, or spread of disease.

The impressive meticulously groomed 600-acre thoroughbred-breeding farm was built in the early 1980’s, and includes its own training center.
