On our first trip (early 2009) I photographed this Mursi kid holding a leaf frond on the banks of the Omo River. The frond is used as a chair and the boat in the background is the only boat we saw on the river during an extensive six-week transect from the highlands where the river starts all the way down to Kenya where the river dumps into Lake Turkana.
