Funeral for Nachugora Duma in Tulgit: Women relatives of the husband’s family are responsible for the funeral even though the deceased woman’s husband has passed before her. They bring her body to the clinic and wait for relatives to walk into town. Then they bind her in a blanket with her knees at her chest and strap her to a pole. They circle a group of rocks three times and then carry her to a makeshift grave. They fill the grave with heavy rocks after they put her in so animals will not dig her up.
